Athletic Program

Letter from Athletic Director Coach Ricky Millwood

Ricky MilwoodGreetings! My name is Ricky Millwood, and I am thrilled to be the head football coach here at Rainbow Lake Middle. I am a 33-year veteran educator that has 30 years of experience playing and coaching football. In the short history of Rainbow Lake we have experienced successes and hard times. We want to build on our successes and grow from the failures.

We intend to build a culture here at Rainbow Lake Middle that emphasizes the team being FIRST! Not the individual. Our players will be expected to sacrifice, strive for excellence and invest in hard work. Our players will be tough, tenacious and humble athletes that excel daily.

Our coaches will be committed to direct our players to reach beyond their perceived potential as a person, student and player. We will strive to be an example for our student athletes that can be a blessing to others daily. We want to make someone’s day. We believe in team victories without personal accolades. Our effectiveness as coaches will not be measured at the end of the season, but instead, it will be measured 20, 30 or 40 years from now. We intend to leave a positive, lasting impression on our student athletes’ lives.

Thank you for allowing us to coach your most precious commodity. It is our pleasure.

Sincerely,
Ricky Millwood
